My first attempt at hat making.

First attempt looks like a success! I love that color!

Thank you :) Cheekily, i chose a colour that my daughter likes as I didn't think my first attempt would be very successful and it can be added to her dressing up box. It came out better than expected and i think I need to trust in the strength of wool a little more and not make it so thick next time.

Très elegant. You might store it with lavendar so it will give off an appropriate scent.

Gorgeous tones. Very impressive for a first attempt!

Susan, that is such a good idea. We grow lavender in our tiny garden.

Crafty - She does look sweet in it.

Jukka - Thank you :)

Ginga - Thank you. It took a little needle felting too, but I'm pleased it held its shape. I have only used a resist once before and it wasn't too successful.

Hello Jasmine, hope you are having a happy weekend. How are your bundles? Mine have turned pink and there is activity! Thanks for your comments on my post today. I enjoyed lots of natural dyeing experiments last year without mordants. I want to pursue this some more but have quite enough going on at the moment ... maybe later! Also want to start a proper dye journal at some stage. I will let you know and shall watch your experiments with interest

Happy weekend
Carolyn ♥

Lovely color...lovely hat. Now we need a picture of *some one special* wearing it. I agree with Susan...lavender will not only match the tone but chase away the moths!

Carolyn - I have entrusted my bundle to my dad as I know I will not be able to stop myself peeking and amending or adding. I do need to check that he actually placed it in his garden though :)

Lynne - Naomi calls it her dancing hat xx

Titus - Thank you, I'm having fun playing with hats right now.

Joei - I will add a someone special to the next post. I don't like to use many photographs of people here though.

Tammy - Thank you x

Yvette - Thanks, sometimes it feels that way, at others I wonder why I am not doing this better. Other peoples felt alays looks better to me than my own xx

Lettuce - Thank you. My silk order seems to be taking forever to arrive. I have an idea for Made4Aid...

Lyon, Shadow, Carol, Cat & Brian - Thank you all. I am having fun playing. Felt is so versatile.

Caio - Thank you. Congratulations on the book. I'm glad you are feeling like painting. Tonight, I thionk I will do a little more on the painting you were advising me on last November. It seems like I put it away a long time ago, and am ready to start again now.

I am having the same problems with blogger too. x
