A Gentle Stroll

We have been blessed with glorious weather and lots of house guests since moving to Anglesey. Today, we decided to explore the foot paths close to my home.

Here is a picture looking down onto Dulus Estuary and one of its ship wrecks.

When I first moved to Anglesey I was excited to hear that William Morris and his brothers were born and raised in Dulus which is only two miles down the road from me. After a little research, i find that it is true that William Morris lived here, but not the same one that is famed for his tiles and textile designs. The Morris brothers of Dulus were cartographers, translated a bible into Welsh and have written books about the Celts. They lived in the 18th Century. I will have to research them some more.

The point where our footpath met the sea.

Revealing this secret bay,

which could only be accessed by climbing down these steps.

Which led to a beautiful private beach with views over to the Snowdonia Mountains and a little lighthouse on an island.

We really are having such a wonderful summer.

You are in such a very beautiful place, that bay is stunning, and so quiet, it all just seems to exude calm. I have very fond memories of spending a week in Anglesey with a team working with young people, but we were too busy to explore much! I'm so glad you've found such a lovely place to settle. xx

Your surroundings look really beautiful Jasmine, what a lovely place to move to! I love walking craggy paths to small beaches whenever I am on holiday, in the meantime I enjoy walking beside our traditional stone walls up the side of my surrounding mountains!! XXX

I'm glad that you've decided to explore. Anglesey is such a beautiful island and the Straits between it and the mainland are a Site Of Special Scientific Interest due to all the wildlife there.

Hi Jasmine

what a beautiful place you have moved to and you sound very pleased to have done so too. How wonderful to have these walks close by to restore and replenish the soul, not to mention keeping the old bod fit.

I will have to fess up and tell you that my sanderlings actually came from photos I took in Kauai last Feb, so they are actually a winter visitor to the islands. I am not blogging that much of late and had the images on hand so created the post.

Tell me Jasmine, do you enjoy snail mail?
If you do let me know and I'll tell you of a group that I have formed around the creating of mail art.

Happy days
