Sharing Treasure

My computer came back from repair today. It is so refreshing to be able to switch it on and read emails again. It is weeks since it caught the Malware Virus.

While I've been away from the computer, I've not had much time to express myself creatively. I'm missing art more than I did the computer. I have however been blessed with house guest after house guest and had some wonderful trips around the Island visiting burial chambers, castles, iron age hill forts, Celtic wells and sites of outstanding natural beauty. I will be writing about one or more of the places I have visited in Shared Treasure #3.

I will write a post on Monday and add the Mr Linky Widget. Please join me by writing about a favourite location in your area. I know its hard to get the day trips in when its so cold outside so by all means take this opportunity to tell us about somewhere you visited in the past. Drag out those snap shots, or take the time to make a piece of art or creative writing/poetry about a place close to your heart.

Until then, I will be slowly making my way round your blogs and catching up with you all xJ

Susan, this is the best burial chamber I have seen. You can crawl right inside. When you visit me in Wales, I will take you here xxJ

Hi, I've not been visiting of late and was about to ask where this burial chamber is - and now I read your answer under 'comments' but still don't know. Maybe if I look up your profile I will discover where to look on the map. Thanks for introducing me to such a wonderful photo / location.

Aha, now I understand - looking at the map as we dashed through Anglesey to catch the ferry to Ireland, I noticed all the 'old sites'. Five hours from home and we did not stop, either heading for the port or on the way back. The Druid's Isle, I believe?

Hi Anne, Good to see you again, I hope that you are well? I have been an absentee for blogger for quite some time now. The burial chamber is in Anglesey on the south side of the Island, near the Menai Straits. It is quite wonderful there, so much to see within a very short distance. We took in a castle, an Iron age hill fort and two burial grounds in 3 hours. And that really was leaving time to look around properly. The castle could have had more times, but Beaumauris is so lovely one never minds returning :)

Yes, Anglesey is the last bastion of the Druids i believe. yet not so many druids in residence. I like the ones I have met :)

Oh, those nasty virusses, I don't understand why people do this. Glad your back and I understand about the feeling of not being able to make art. It's part of our lives, isn't it.
I know one day I'll be visiting Wales, and all her historic sites. Must need years for that I think :)
Thanks for showing

I am not out and about visiting places at all at the moment. However i do visit local places quite often. My fav place at the moment is The Edge and the wonderful woods there - Alderley Edge, this is where I live, which is about 30 minutes walk from my village http://www.alderleyedge.org/
