The One Love Challenge

I took  some pictures of my collage responses to Susan's Valentine Challenge today.  I live inbetween two parks.  In one direction I can walk to Warely Woods which joins with Bearwood Park and these woods are patroned by Julie Walters.  I have gone there since I was a little girl .

In the other direction, the park is in a very deprived area.  The park itself, is better for children, more slides and climbing frames., but I feel very unsafe there.  I don't know why as I do not feel unsafe in the streets around it, and I do the majority of my shopping in this end of town , however there is a very threatening and oppressive feeling here that I always feel everytime I step foot inside this park.

Today, I decided to visit this park instead of the prettier, safe park.  I thought if I was going to decorate a tree with valentine love and spread goodwill, this park needs it the most.

To visit other responses to the valentine challenge please visit Susan at Artspark Theatre.

LS - You are so sweet :) Thank you x

Caio - You made me smile. I didn't feel so brave at the time. It is a strange vibe connected to that place. Other places with terrible reputations do not make me feel this nervous :)

I think you did a wonderful thing today! I'm sure that your actions will make a much bigger impact than if you had visited the other park.

And thank you so much for alerting me to my win on Cheryl's Healing Woman Blog. I never expected to win anything so hadn't checked. Bless you !

Sharing of one's self or giving a part of ourselves (our art, for instance) can overflow and move to places we can not see....I think you sharing a part of you might remove some of those dreaded feelings from that spot. So proud of your bravery!!

Hugs,
Regi

I love that you decorated the "dark" park, the one that "needed it most"! When I read your lovely post it reminded me of this saying that I think is so empowering:

"Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear." -Ambrose Redmoon

Brava, Jasmine ~!~

Very fun, and so smart to put good "Ohm" in the place that needed it more. BTW, I love your William Nlake quote. :-)

Ah, that was a brave decision, going to the park you fear a bit. But you have done a great thing there, you have brought loving engergy to it, healing the park.

I know places that you write about here...nothing visible but with a murky feel...like something is just watching and waiting...When I was a kid I felt that way about walking down halls...my feet would want to run and my body would tingle...
What a wonderful idea to hang your gift of love!
Thanks for stopping by my blog during owoh and becoming a follower.
